We look back on 2023 with joy, pride and gratitude. This year, our clinics celebrated their 70th (Überlingen) and 50th (Marbella) anniversaries. We have summarised the highlights on this page as well as photos and videos from the celebrations.

We celebrated in style
In Überlingen, we were joined by some 150 guests for a summer’s evening on the lakeside. It was an opportunity to get to know each other, chat, reminisce, enjoy, listen to music and get inspiration. Musical accompaniment was provided by Alona Negrich on the piano, Arno Haas on saxophone, as well as German actor and singer Mark Keller and his son Aaron.
Three months later, it was time for Marbella to say, ¡Feliz cumpleaños! Among the 150 or so guests at the celebrations was the deputy mayor of Marbella, who thanked Buchinger Wilhelmi for bringing more quality and health tourism to the town. In an emotional speech, Claus and Jutta Rohrer took us on a personal journey back in time. They described the moment when, after a phone call from Jutta’s mother Maria Buchinger, they decided to take over the management of the fasting clinic.
As a special culinary highlight, finger food was served from Fernando Sanchez’s organic gourmet cuisine. To finish off, there was a gateau and summer cocktails, and the guests danced to their hearts’ desire.

120 years of Buchinger Wilhelmi history
In this documentary about the 50-year history of the clinic in Marbella, the family takes us through the years from 1973 to 2023 in emotional interviews. The present-day managers Katharina Rohrer-Zaiser and Victor Wilhelmi point out that the atmosphere in the clinics was informal and family-like from the start and pinpoint the patients and the team at Buchinger Wilhelmi as the pillars of its success.
This entertaining film looking back on 70 years of the clinic in Überlingen combines previously unseen, historic images with current scenes from the fasting clinic. These authentic insights are complemented with original recordings of Dr. Otto Buchinger. The film also portrays the achievements of each of the four generations in the traditional family-owned business.
