NEW TREATMENTS 2023

Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic Marbella

Our versatile functional laboratory in Marbella

We now have a functional laboratory at our fasting clinic in Marbella. This is a special unit that uses various therapeutic procedures (correcting general posture problems, physiotherapy for motor control, and treatments with Indiba®) to examine and treat the functional status of the musculoskeletal system.

Did you know that we carried out a scientific study to show that our muscles regenerate after fasting in the same way as other organ tissues? No decrease in muscle performance was observed – on the contrary. Find out more here.

Correcting general posture problems

Correcting general posture problems involves postural exercises that you carry out yourself to progressively extend the static and dynamic muscles. This way, it is possible to trace the path from the symptom back to the cause of an injury to ultimately restore morphological harmony. To this end, we work with muscle tension and stretching of the different muscle chains. Often, tensions accumulate in our body over time, depending on our lifestyle; we lose elasticity, stature, our bodies become deformed – a development that can be accelerated by certain circumstances, such as illness or accidents. This gentle, active, and progressive physiotherapeutic method can help in the case of bad posture, stiffness, loss of physiological posture, bone, and joint pathologies, shortened muscles and loss of elasticity.

Physiotherapy for motor control

Another treatment method is physiotherapy for motor control. This involves exercises to restore physiological movement in one or several limbs. Pain in one body region usually causes functional changes in this area without there being a specific lesion. The resilience of the tissue under stress decreases continuously, resulting in changes in the programming of the nervous system. This manifests itself in increased activity of the superficial muscles, leading to trigger points and tension, and, in the long term, chronic pain. The exercises should only be repeated a few times at first with a focus on carrying them out correctly. After the learning phase, they should be practised every day. As soon as the movement is anchored in the nervous system, the exercises can be supplemented with more dynamic, athletic ones. This new form of active pain treatment by the patient results in a permanent change in the nervous system, leading to better long-term results than can be achieved with a more passive form of therapy. It also prevents lesions reoccurring over time. This treatment is suited to restrictions or imbalances in the musculoskeletal system.

Indiba®

Indiba® is an electronic recuperator that activates the blood circulation through heat treatment, thereby promoting the nourishment and revitalisation of the cells. Indiba® works with a frequency of 448 kHz as a basis for cellular changes that accelerate the healing process of the tissue, alleviate pain, and restore mobility. The effects of Indiba® technology are combined with the expertise of our physiotherapists to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. This treatment can be applied therapeutically at the musculoskeletal level as well as at the level of the fascia and lipid tissue. Two different types of electrodes allow us to reach both superficial and deeper-lying layers of tissue. This therapy is suitable for treating injuries of the musculoskeletal system, painful joint disease (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis), inflammatory processes with pain in the limbs and spine, for external treatment of musculoskeletal injuries to the pelvic floor, for external and intracavitary treatment of chronic pain in the pelvic area, and for physio-aesthetics.

NEW THERAPIES 2023

Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic Überlingen

Holistic Qi therapy in Überlingen

At our fasting clinic in Überlingen, we have added a new treatment to the wide range of holistic therapies we already offer. Qi therapy combines the techniques of structural osteopathy, gentle chiropractic therapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture. The term “Qi” can be best translated as “life energy”. This holistic form of treatment is aimed at enabling the Qi to flow freely. From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the doctor’s task is to release blockages and enable the Qi to flow: “The wise heal what is not yet sick”. The methods used to develop therapeutic measures, such as tongue and pulse diagnosis, also stem from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Qi therapy is ideally suited to treating physical and emotional blockages as well as functional disorders of the joints. Blockages occur when the body has lost its natural freedom of movement. The focus of the treatment is always on the structural and functional dynamics of the spine. It is accompanied by special heat treatment. This therapy is particularly suited to complaints of the musculoskeletal system and stress caused by emotions.
