OUR HIGHLIGHT FROM MAY 2025 – HAPPINESS WEEK
Create your happiness and activate your own superpower
After a few days in the intensive Buchinger fasting program, the guests of Happiness Week felt a clearly increased sense of well-being. Many experienced a tangible lightness; both physically and mentally, a new clarity emerged. This Buchinger-typical “breathing space” created by fasting opened room for new insights. Florence Servan-Schreiber poetically describes fasting as a moment of “liberation from oneself,” an experience that significantly shaped the special atmosphere of this week.
Impulses from Positive Psychology
The author and expert in Positive Psychology, Florence Servan-Schreiber, captivated audiences with interactive talks and workshops. “Creating Happiness – Activating Superpowers” was the motto of these days. With practical, hands-on insights, she enabled participants to rediscover their own sense of happiness. Central questions included: What truly makes us satisfied? Drawing on the latest findings from happiness research, she shared easy-to-apply strategies to actively cultivate everyday well-being.

Happiness Week with Florence Servan-Schreiber
Discover your superpowers
In a dynamic workshop, participants playfully discovered the personal strengths lying dormant within them. They reflected on the conditions under which they truly flourish and learned how to apply these individual talents consciously in everyday life. The goal was to use these “superpowers” to sustainably boost motivation and zest for life.
The power of gratitude
Through practical exercises, guests learned how to consciously notice and express gratitude. Such gratitude practices are proven to elicit strong positive emotions and are considered a key to greater life satisfaction, stronger social connection, and even better health. Participants experienced firsthand how even simple gratitude rituals create immediate feel-good effects.
Create your happiness
In another workshop, participants explored what a personally fulfilling future might look like. With scissors, paper, and a selection of images, each person created an individual vision board. This creative visualization of one’s goals can help sharpen focus on what matters and foster optimism. The resulting collages reflected personal values and wishes, serving as a visual reminder of what strengthens and guides us in everyday life.
Create your own moments of happiness
To conclude, participants exchanged ideas on how to stay deliberately open to “happy coincidences” in everyday life. Together, they developed rituals and small habits to create new moments of happiness again and again, whether through daily positive gestures or by paying closer attention to the opportunities that arise.
New energy for everyday life
At the end of the week, guests returned home with many new insights and an unexpected lightness. The combination of fasting experience and findings from happiness research led to a renewed sense of life and greater self-confidence. With strengthened self-belief, participants will now try to consciously let the moments of happiness they discovered this week continue to grow in everyday life. Anyone who would like to experience this nourishing connection between body, mind, and happiness for themselves can already look forward to the next Happiness Week.
