Fasting as a catalyst for change

Steffanie Hornstein - 21/11/2018 - 0 comments

In an ever-changing world, fasting is an ideal catalyst for transformation. Whether you are a “change maker” or an “athlete”, young or old, fasting can be used as a strategic tool to shift boundaries. A child born today can expect to live around 100 years and will probably remain an active citizen of the 22nd century until old age. But we have no clear idea of the challenges facing us in future, never mind in the next 10 years. What we do know, however, is that professional demands will change rapidly in future and a university degree will only be relevant for a short time. The ability to constantly reinvent ourselves is the most important skill in a future characterized by constant change. Instead of reinventing yourself in your current situation, fasting can prepare you both physically and mentally for successful transformation. However, you must be ready to give up comforting habits and rituals for the time being – eating, meal times, social conventions. The reward for this is a state that scientists call the “switch of life”.
